Keurig Dr Pepper’s regional headquarters campus in Plano has sold to a Dallas-based investor.
The 262,000-square-foot office campus in Legacy business park has been up for sale since earlier this year. Keurig Dr Pepper is building a new $200 million office project in the Dallas Cowboys’ Star in Frisco mixed-use development.
A company organized by Dallas’ Champion Partners purchased Dr Pepper’s Legacy business campus, which the beverage firm will continue to occupy until the new building opens in 2021. About 1,100 employees will relocate from Dr Pepper’s current office.
Built in 1998 as the headquarters for Dr Pepper, the three-story office complex sits on Legacy Drive just east of the Dallas North Tollway. Commercial real estate firm CBRE marketed the Legacy campus for sale.
Champion Partners bought the office complex with a $52.4 million loan from Square Mile Capital Management of New York. The campus includes a 5.32-acre site that can be developed.
Dr Pepper was purchased in 2018 by Massachusetts-based Keurig Green Mountain for $21 billion. Since then, the company has operated from two office headquarters including the Plano location.
Champion Partners is a 28-year-old Dallas commercial real estate firm with a long track record of development and investment. The company has specialized in acquiring and repositioning properties in locations including Richardson’s Telecom Corridor, North Dallas and Oak Lawn.
