早稲田大学における教職員の在宅研究・在宅勤務およびキャンパス立入禁止期間の再延長について（５月２０日まで）

現在実施している教職員の在宅研究・在宅勤務およびキャンパス立入禁止措置は、国の緊急事態宣言に伴う東京都の緊急事態措置に基づくものであり、大学に対する休業要請の期間と合わせて、２０２０年５月６日（水）までを期限としています。
国による緊急事態宣言の解除または延長の決定は、大型連休中になる可能性があると報道されていますが、本学は、この決定如何にかかわらず、5月7日以降も社会に求められている接触機会の8割低減を実現させる必要があると判断し、教職員の在宅研究・在宅勤務およびキャンパス立入禁止期間を５月２０日（水）まで、再延長いたします。
なお、５月２０日（水）以降につきましては、社会状況等を勘案し、慎重に判断のうえで決定し、即時に周知いたします。
＊５月１１日から、原則オンラインによる授業を開始することについては、変更ありません。
Re-extension of the campus closure period and remote research work of faculty and staff until May 20
Waseda University announced that it would close all of its campuses and have its faculty conduct research and staff work remotely until Wednesday, May 6, 2020, in accordance with the request made by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government asking to close universities until this date as part of their emergency measures under Japan’s state of emergency declaration.
Though the media has reported that the Japanese Government may announce a decision whether to extend the state of emergency during the long weekend of May 2-6, Waseda University has decided that, regardless of whatever the Japanese Government’s decision may be, the University should extend the campus closure period until Wednesday, May 20, 2020. The reason for this is that it is necessary to reduce social contacts by 80% in order to protect public health.
Regarding what happens after May 20, we will carefully make decisions taking all circumstances into consideration, and inform you as soon as possible.
Waseda University will start classes online on May 11, as previously announced.
