Early enrollees arriving on TCU campus on Tuesday | 247 Sports

New football players will be on campus today!

In addition to Coleman, fellow Louisiana defensive lineman Patrick Jenkins is another player that could make an immediate impact. The four-star is fresh off an impressive week at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio. Jenkins performed well at practices throughout the week and in the game on Saturday. With Ross Blacklock declaring for the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft, Jenkins could be pressed into action early on.

Others set to arrive on Tuesday at JUCO offensive lineman Brandon Coleman, Virginia offensive lineman Altrique Barlow, four-star defensive tackle Jaquaze Sorrells and JUCO linebacker Jamoi Hodge.

This is a massive pickup for TCU Hoops. With Bane graduating, O’Bannon can fill a huge hole on the perimeter.

But O’Bannon was a highly-touted prospect coming out of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, being a McDonald’s High School All-American and earning a five-star ranking by ESPN.

The 6-foot-6, 220-pounder will join a TCU team next season that has to fill the loss of star guard Desmond Bane, who is in the midst of a solid senior season. Bane is on track to lead the team in scoring his final two years.

O’Bannon will have an opportunity to fill that void. This is a guy who led Bishop Gorman to four consecutive state championships.

O’Bannon is the son of Charles Sr., who was on UCLA’s 1995 national championship team and was a second-round pick in the 1997 NBA Draft. His uncle, Ed, also played at UCLA and has made headlines in recent years for his lawsuit against the NCAA.

TCU, Kansas State meet in conference play | KSWO

K State has had the Frogs’ number, but Tuesday could be a turning point.

BOTTOM LINE: TCU pays visit to Kansas State in a Big 12 matchup. Each team last saw action this past Saturday. TCU needed overtime to beat Iowa State by two points at home, while Kansas State fell to Oklahoma on the road, 66-61.

PLENTY OF EXPERIENCE: Senior leadership could play a big role in this game’s outcome. Xavier Sneed, Cartier Diarra and Makol Mawien have collectively accounted for 53 percent of Kansas State’s scoring this season. For TCU, Desmond Bane, Edric Dennis Jr. and Jaire Grayer have collectively scored 45 percent of the team’s points this season.

Mawien has given the Frogs fits.

Senior forward Makol Mawien has also struggled this season, as his numbers (7.8 points and 4.9 rebounds) have not improved from last year.

“We need him more active,” Weber said. “He’s got to get a couple of those rebounds to change the game for us. Levi has six. I’d like (Stockard) to score a little more, have a little better motor.”

The Wildcats (7-6, 0-1 Big 12) will take more from both their veterans and their freshmen when they face TCU (10-3, 1-0) at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Bramlage Coliseum.
