Cops: Man brought shotgun to Siena campus - Times Union

A Schenectady man looking to resolve a dispute over a drug debt brought a shotgun onto the campus of Siena College Saturday night, Colonie police said.

Around 7:30 p.m., Siena security told Colonie police they had received an anonymous email about a man on campus with a shotgun. Public safety staff were able to spot the man and his vehicle on video surveillance and saw that he had left the campus.

Several hours later, Schenectady police found the vehicle on Garner Avenue and arrested Anthony J. Aunchman, 21.

Aunchman had gone to the campus' MacClosky Townhouses in order to threaten a student who lived there over a drug debt and threaten another person over an on-going dispute, Colonie police said. No shots were fired. Police found the firearm hidden in the attic at 1013 Garner Ave. The shotgun was sawed-off and was loaded with a live shell, police said.

Aunchman was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds. He was arraigned in Colonie town court and sent to Albany County jail.
